Abstract

The objective of this research is to obtain a percentage of success for each Ministry of Transport (ITV) facilities of each city of the Comunidad Valenciana from Spain by comparing results obtained by using different brake testers. It have been studied which types of brake tester are being used at each city nowadays. Firstly, it has been asked the types of brake testers that are used at each city. Secondly, researchers from the Miguel Hernández University have measured brake forces with all of them, with the same car with same characteristics and the same wheels, parameters of the vehicle have been controlled to be the same at all tests; and data obtained were compared. In other words, Is has been studied if brake measurements variability are due to the type of testers used at the ITV station. Finally, a percentage of probability to pass the brake exam at each city will be given by comparing results of tests. Keywords: brake tester, Ministry of transport, variables, longitudinal braking
