This paper presents an investigation into the behavior of the compressive strength of cylindrical mass concrete specimens HM-25 with added polypropylene (PP) fibers and has been subjected to a direct fire test. PP fiber-reinforced concrete, with 1 wt% and 2 wt% added PP, were subjected to rupture compression test, before and after subjecting it to thermal aggression, for obtaining the maximum breaking strength, maximum strain, and strain energy density, and the results were compared with those for concrete without added PP. Results indicate that the addition of PP fibers in amounts of 1 wt% to 2 wt% improves the mechanical properties of the concrete. Concrete with PP addition is very good alternative to traditional concrete, because it improves its resistance and slows their cracking, especially in case of being subjected to the action of the fire, or those that suffer high temperatures.
