New power system for solar termal generation with direct steam generation

Abstract

Puerto Errado 2 was synchronized in mid January 2012 with the electrical network. The Puerto Errado 2 project started in the second term of 2010 and is waiting for the complete reception in summer 2012. It is located in Calasparra, Murcia. Puerto Errado 2 is the largest plant built using technology from direct steam generation, with a capacity of 30 MW. Given the absence of global business experience in the use of solar power with direct steam generation, OHL Industrial has had to carry out the development activities and innovation of detail required to ensure project success, both in the auxiliary technology pipes of the solar field as well as in the power system. Thus, the power system is specifically developed to allow the use of steam generated in the solar field directly, without heat exchangers or harmful fluids to the environment.
