PROCEDIMIENTOS EN EL TRABAJO DE CAMPO La organización social de un equipo de investigación compuesto por estudiantes

Resumen

En este texto, que es el apéndice metodológico del libro Patterns of industrial bureacracy (1954), los autores describen no los «principios metodológicos» de su es-tudio, sino, más bien la forma concreta en que llevaron a cabo su trabajo de campo, deteniéndose en el comentario crítico de varios aspectos del mismo. Dichos aspec-tos, identificados en varios apartados, comprenden, desde las fuentes de los datos: las entrevistas abiertas, las observaciones in situ y el ingente material documental consultado; pasando por la forma en que se constituye el equipo de investigación, integrado por estudiantes de Sociología; y continuando por aspectos tan importantes como la forma de entrada y acceso a los centros de trabajo, los distintos aspectos del desarrollo, revisión y mejora de las entrevistas, la moral del equipo de investigación,aspectos de la investigación, entre los que cabe resaltar las formas de vinculación en-tre la investigación concreta y la teorización que de ella emerge.

 «Field work procedures: the social organization of a student research team»

In this text, which is the methodological appendix of the book Patterns of industrial bureacracy (1954), the authors describe not the «methodological principles» of his study, but rather the specific way in which they carried out their field work, stopping into critical of several aspects of it. These issues, identified in several sections, in-clude, from the sources of data: the open interviews, observations in situ, and the enormous documentary material consulted; followed by the way in which the re-search team is made up of students of Sociology, and continuing with such important issues as how to input and access to the workplace, the different aspects of deve-lopment, review and improvement of the interviews, the research team morale, or the network set up to conduct interviews . And they end up considering other aspects of the investigation, among which highlight the ways of linking specific research and theorizing that emerges from it.
