Resumen

Introducción y Objetivo. Este estudio pretende comprender y analizar los principales determinantes que afectan al gasto en Espacios Naturales Protegidos. Metodología. Se realizaron 1119 encuestas in situ en el Parque Natural del Cadí-Moixeró a partir de las cuales se analizó el gasto de los visitantes e identificó los descriptores sociodemográficos, de comportamiento de visita y motivacionales que influyen con la probabilidad de generar gasto durante la visita. Resultados y conclusiones. El perfil predominante es hombre, de unos cuarenta años, con estudios universitarios que pernocta en el parque. Al comparar las características entre las personas que gastan y las que no, se observaron diferencias significativas en la distribución por sexo, frecuencia de visita, porcentaje de visitas en grupo, media de días de visita, tipo de alojamiento, intensidad de la actividad física, conocimiento del parque (canales), motivación por la visita (naturaleza y relax; y motivación por el aire libre y la salud). Por último, los predictores estadísticamente significativos en el modelo de regresión logística fueron la visita en grupo, el tipo de alojamiento, la intensidad de la actividad física, los días de visita y la motivación por la naturaleza y el relax. Los resultados tienen implicaciones para el futuro desarrollo del turismo en los Espacios Naturales Protegidos y deberían ser aplicables a otras regiones.
