La Bernat Metge y la traducción de clásicos grecolatinos al gallego, vasco y asturiano

Resumen

La colección Bernat Metge, formada por ediciones bilingües con texto original grecolatino y traducción catalana, nació en 1922 (al final del Noucentisme) gracias al mecenazgo de F. Cambó. En este trabajo señalamos como antecedentes de esta colección, además de las “Bibliotecas” europeas (Teubner, Oxford, Loeb y Budé), la breve Bibliotheca scriptorum graecorum et romanorum cum ibericis versionibus y la Biblioteca de Autores Griegos y Latinos de la Academia Calasancia (1910-1917), ambas de origen catalán. También estudiamos la influencia y el impulso ejercido por la colección Bernat Metge en las traducciones de textos clásicos grecolatinos al gallego, vasco y asturiano. Abstract The Bernat Metge Collection and the translations from Greek and Latin into Galician, Basque and Asturian languages Ramiro GONZÁLEZ DELGADO The Bernat Metge Collection (bilingual editions with original Greek or Latin text and Catalonian translation) was born in 1922, at the end of a cultural movement called Noucentisme, thanks to economic support from F. Cambó. In this paper we show the antecedents of this collection: the European “Libraries” Teubner, Oxford, Loeb and Budé, but also the brief Bibliotheca scriptorum graecorum et romanorum cum ibericis versionibus and the Biblioteca de Autores Griegos y Latinos of Calasancia Academy (1910-1917) (both have their origins in Catalonia too). As well, we study the influence and encouragement of the Bernat Metge Collection on classical authors’ translations into Galician, Basque and Asturian languages.
