Boris Shiváchev: el hombre de la periferia de Europa convertido en ciudadano del mundo

Resumen

El trabajo está dedicado a la vida y la obra del escritor Boris Shiváchev, el primer hispanista de Bulgaria. Presenta el contexto sociohistórico y cultural en los Balcanes y, concretamente, en Bulgaria, que determina la aparición de un intelectual cosmopolita en la sociedad búlgara de los años 20-30. Incluye datos biográficos, el ideario de Boris Shiváchev, los dos aspectos de su obra de popularizador de la literatura y cultura española e hispanoamericana en Bulgaria y de la búlgara en el mundo hispanohablante mediante publicaciones en la prensa búlgara y extranjera, igual que la labor de Boris Shiváchev como primer traductor directamente del español al bulgaro. Abstract Boris Shiváchev: the Man of the Periphery of Europe, Converted into a Citizen of the World Ludmila ILIEVA The present study is dedicated to the life and the work of the writer Boris Shivachev, the first Hispanist in Bulgaria. It presents the sociohistorical and cultural context on the Balkans and, particularly, in Bulgaria, that determines the appearance of a cosmopolitan intellectual in the Bulgarian society of the twenties and thirties. The article includes biographical data, the ideas of Boris Shivachev, the two aspects of his work as popularizer of the Spanish and the Spanish-American literature and culture in Bulgaria and of the Bulgarian literature and culture in the Hispanic world through publications in the press in Bulgaria and abroad and through his work being the first translator directly from Spanish to Bulgarian.
