Traducción, géneros textuales y enfoques cognitivos

Resumen

RESUMEN: Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la utilidad del estudio del género textual para los enfoques cognitivos de la traducción, y viceversa. Primero, se repasa el concepto de género textual en traducción; a continuación, se exponen las carencias de los enfoques formales y comunicativos; después, se describe el enfoque cognitivo en Traductología y se proponen algunas posibles interconexiones entre el estudio de este y el del concepto de género; finalmente, se incluyen las principales conclusiones. Existen suficientes razones para relacionar las dos áreas de estudio, tanto para impulsar la comprensión teórica de los conceptos, como para mejorar y enriquecer el ejercicio de la profesión y de la investigación.

ABSTRACT: The aim of the present study is to analyze the relevance of the textual genre for the cognitive approaches of Translation, and vice versa. First, the concept of textual genre in Translation is addressed; next, the deficiencies of merely formal or communicative approaches are exposed; then, the cognitive approach in Translatology is described, and some possible interconnections are proposed between the study of this one and that of the concept of genre; finally, the main conclusions are included. There are sufficient reasons to relate such fields of study, both to promote the theoretical comprehension of the concepts, and to improve and enrich the exercise of the profession and of the research.
