Abstract

Exhaust emissions restrictions are continuously increasing. Engine manufacturers are working in the development of new systems that could control those emissions. In this paper, two alternatives (exhaust gas recirculation + particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction + urea) are compared on urban buses using onboard measurements along a route that includes low and high driving speed stretches. Furthermore, the use of diesel and biodiesel as fuels has been compared too.
