The interest in the study and protection of the industrial heritage is actually growing. Initiatives, from different approaches and with different scopes, have been promoted. The valuation of this type of heritage is still far from other typologies, but it is improving too. The implementation of the National Plan of Industrial Heritage, the raise of organizations focused on the industrial heritage and the growing importance placed on this topic in both, academic and research level, are all signs of improvement. However, this heritage is still in a fragile position. Information on this field is very heterogeneous. Industrial activities have always contributed to shape our social models in very different aspects. Thus, the industrial heritage must be analyzed from a high variety of approaches. But, maybe due to this mulltidisplinarity and to the absence of industrial engineers on this task, the actual situation is not suitable. There is little official and accessible information, differences between the different territories are important and, especially, there is a lack of common criteria in the study of this type of assets. In this work the advantages of the establishment of basic common criteria for the study of any asset of this type are exposed, and a work methodology is proposed. Moreover, the number of assets considered by previous national catalogs is significantly increased. Finally, some of the multiple possible analysis allowed by the proposed methodology are shown.Downloads
