A comparative analysis of migratory dispersion in Spain by regions, provinces, types of municipalities and age groups (1986-2003)
Abstract
The paper offers a comparative analysis of the degree of migratory dispersion during 1986-2003 by regions, provinces and by types of municipalities, from a migratory dispersion index based on Shryock´s indexes, whose application points to a high migratory dispersion at every level and, therefore, to the presence of a scheme of distribution of internal migratory flows which has not produced important gains or losses of population to the whole of territorial units. This work finishes with the proposal of an index which allows us to determine the influence of age in the migratory dispersion, the IDAE, whose application to provincial migratory flows indicates that they do not exist, in this period, significant differences in the migratory dispersion by age groups.Downloads
