Resumen

What do students want from the subject New Technologies Applied to Education? What aspects would be desirable and what should we take into consideration when using new technologies in the classroom to achieve optimal results? These are some of the questions that we will attempt to answer. This study provides a clear and scientific presentation of student’s opinions from the third year Vocational Training course at the four Universities in the Castile-La Mancha University system: Toledo, Albacete, Ciudad Real and Cuenca. The sample has been taken from seven specializations: -Early childhood education: 155 students -Primary Education: 228 –Special Education: 97 -Foreign Language Education: 141 –Hearing and Speech: 94 –Musical Education: 160 –Physical Education: 82. The findings show the need for increased training in the educational use of audiovisual media, computers and new technologies in both university teacher training and continuing education courses. Students are open to the need to broaden their knowledge in this area. Creating areas or subjects that include this knowledge at the university level and/or in continuing education post-university programs would allow them to reach optimal levels of initial and continuing training in ICT.
